Structures Network for women – victims of violence

The General Secretariat for Equality and Human Rights has a complete nationwide Network of Structures for the preventionAnd addressing violence and multiple discrimination againstWomen, consisting of:

The Counseling Centers

a) 14 Advisory Centers, which are operated by the Research Center forEquality Issues (KETHI-NPID, supervised body under GOPIF),
b) 29 Counseling Centers, operated by corresponding Municipalities and
c) 1 Advisory Center organically integrated into the General Secretariat.

The Advisory Centers are staffed by specialist scientific staff Consultants specialized in approaching women through the Gender point of view. They provide free services to the women who turn to them, concerningInformation and consulting, in the context of integrated actions such asPsychosocial and legal support and work counseling.

The Shelters for Battered Women

a) 18 Hostels are operated by corresponding Municipalities and
b) 1 Hostel from the National Center for Social Solidarity (EKKA).

The Hostels host women victims of violence with their children, according to their Operating Regulations.

The SOS 15900 Call Line
The SOS line 15900 is about female victims of violence. It is Nationwide, and it has a 24-hour operation 365 days a year, with landlineCharge. The line is staffed by psychologists and social scientists ready to provide immediate assistance in emergency and emergency incidents of violence. The SOS call line offers information services and telephone counseling for victims of all forms of gender-based violence and is provided without calling charge by Vodafone and Wind while charged with one urban unit for a call from Cosmote. Any woman experiencing incidents of violence (sexual or domestic) can call the SOS 15900 hotline or send an email to: 

The website is a State website designed to hold all the necessary information and emergency telephone numbers for matters of sexual harassment, abuse and authoritarian violence and the actions to combat them. The website also announces initiatives aimed at helping everyone to act against any form of harassment and abuse.
